Guidelines

1. The Sisterhood of the Yay-Yay Sister-Friends is founded on respect. Attacking another Yay-Yay will not be tolerated. No Yay-Yay shall abuse, malign, demean, or otherwise intimidate any other Yay-Yay in any way. This includes, but is not exclusive to: on our group blog, on Yay-Yays' individual blogs, or on any internet site allowing public access. Violation of this mandate will result in immediate termination of your Yay-Yay membership.
2. Abusive commenting will not be tolerated. Anyone found to violate this mandate will immediately lose all privileges. Disagreement and debate are acceptable, but flaming is not. Flame wars are loosely defined as that which denigrates to personal attacks and insulting language... however, because everyone has differing levels of what is polite, a lot of slack will be cut in this area. What is a flame to you might just be part of a discussion to another. If you have any doubts, please consult the Board.
3. Respect. Uniqueness is a gift. Should you disagree with someone's point of view, by all means express yourself. Just do it in a respectful manner. We welcome a difference of opinion and the insight that comes from a different perspective, so long as your thoughts are not delivered in a hostile or punitive attack. While we're anti-flame, we're also emphatically for free speech. Part of a supportive environment is the ability for people of differing opinions to feel safe in expressing them. Please support and respect the right of free speech. This includes opinions that might offend or bother you. As long as an opinion is expressed without flaming (see above), it is valid.
4. We have a zero tolerance policy for hate and hate groups. Anyone found by the Board to have violated this policy will be banned.
5. This forum is not to be used as a means for the promotion of any personal cause, company or organization. Solicitation of funds will not be tolerated...the post/comment will be deleted. The offending Yay-Yay will be warned in an email. Please do not abuse the blog by posting advertisements or announcements that are about a particular event, service, or are blatantly commercial. Even a good cause that has not been approved by the Board is still spam. As far as the Yay-Yays are concerned, spam is not free speech.
6. Pornographic material (pictures, stories, etc.) may not be disseminated openly. Links may be used, providing that members are permitted an option to view such materials at their own discretion. The Board reserves the right to determine what is acceptable and what is not. Anything found to be deemed unacceptable will be removed immediately.
7. Personal information published within the Yay-Yay forum is at the author's own risk.
8. No member shall publish personal information about another Yay-Yay without that Yay-Yay's permission.
9. Please restrict any memes, surveys, quizzes, email forwards, etc. to your own blog. The Yay-Yays' blog is for original thoughts, personal life experiences, perspectives, etc.
Any evidence of blatant disregard for these guidelines will result in immediate termination of all your Yay-Yay privileges and you will be stripped of your Yay-Yayness
